NINGNING 닝닝 debuted as the main vocalist and youngest of South Korean girl group aespa, under SM Entertainment on November 17, 2020. Over the course of her career, NINGNING has established herself as an all-rounder artist, recognized for her excellent singing, dancing, and rapping, as well as her experience in music production, composition, songwriting, and even choreographing.

Apart from music, NINGNING has also been making a name for herself in the fashion industry. Renowned for her fashion sense and modeling skills, it is no surprise that she's been hailed Global Brand Ambassador for Versace on February 8, 2024, with two campaigns to her name: NINGNING KLEIO CAMPAIGN and NINGNING FOR VERSACE HOLIDAY 2024.

Ning Yizhuo 宁艺卓 was born on October 23, 2002 in Harbin, China. She started singing at the early age of 5 and is known as a child star singer after participating in multiple talent programs, showcasing her singing prowess.

After watching videos of her talent program auditions, a casting agent of SM Entertainment contacted her via direct message to ask if she was interested in becoming an idol. She was signed to the company the day after she arrived in South Korea.

  Pre-debut career in China

Ning Yizhuo was announced as a new member of SM Entertainment's pre-debut training team SM Rookies on September 19, 2016. She was introduced with the stage name NINGNING (닝닝), her nickname when she was younger.

In the same year, NINGNING appeared on My SMT's Rookies Princess: Who's the Best? segment and in 2017, she sang several songs, including original and covers, for South Korean animated series Shining Star (샤이닝스타), alongside other SM Rookies Girls.

NINGNING was first teased as a member of SM Entertainment's new girl group in aespa 에스파 ‘MY, KARINA’ during the World Cultural Industry Forum on October 28, 2020. She was officially introduced as the third member on October 29 and debuted on November 17.

She is the main vocalist and youngest member of the group. She trained the longest (5 years) and is the only public trainee among the members. She is also the only SM Rookies Girl among her peers to debut.
